Shadows of Revival

The shadows are still cast;
of the preacher, who caught
in this place alight with fire.
The reflected glow
can be seen in ageing eyes.
The word of welcome
formal and polite.
Greeting one young and green.
Hoping, but not to much,
that a flame might catch again,
a stray cinder from the past.
Here the shadows are still cast.
